Advances of AI Across Industries

Throughout 2025, AI (artificial intelligence) has become more integrated with people’s everyday lives. People interact with AI so often that it has become the norm. One may stumble across AI videos or even ask an AI model for answers. However, AI can do so much more. AI is being implemented in many other fields, in addition to the existing applications.

For example, AI was recently used in the medical field to determine how bacteria was destroyed. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that is also difficult to treat. For the longest time, many people, including researchers and scientists, believed that the current tuberculosis treatment worked by destroying the cell wall, hence killing the bacteria. However, an AI named DECIPHAER proved this idea to be false. DECIPHAER mapped out that the drug actually prevents the cell from creating any energy. Through DECIPHAER, researchers cleared up confusion on an existing treatment. This AI also offers faster and cheaper methods of predicting how certain treatments will affect disease and bacteria cells.

AI has even started making its way into banking. Malaysia has released the world’s first AI-powered bank. Ryt Bank, released on August 25, 2025, uses AI as a digital assistant for personal banking. The AI can send money, pay and upload bills, and give financial advice. All of this is implemented into a mobile app that users can access anywhere. The bank’s launch rethinks how AI can be used for banking and other financial services.

Finally, AI is also helping communities with their writing. Grammarly, an online writing tool that helps educators and students, recently released AI agents that provide many benefits. The agents can predict paper scores and proofread essays. These agents can also assist educators by being able to check for plagiarism of articles and checking if the article was human-written or AI-generated.

Not only is the AI branching out into other uses, but it is also getting improved. OpenAI, an artificial intelligence company, is always releasing new models for its generative AI, ChatGPT. These new models are usually better than the last, improving their correctness and logical reasoning. Not only is AI growing online, but also growing physically. As AI becomes more advanced, it will also need to be housed in larger spaces. AI data centers will grow in size with respect to AI’s development.

In summary, AI is rapidly expanding across many fields, including medicine, banking, and education. This diverse range of use shows its impact on society. As AI continues to advance, it will undoubtedly improve and transform our lives.
