Even now, I can’t believe it’s true.
Our first meeting I still remember.
Chilled with awkwardness so blue,
yet here we are so close to September.
With white solitude echoing my steps,
the snow never melted.
I couldn’t understand.
What could I be missing?
Yet when I gaze at the sky now,
a wave of comfort drapes over me.
For where I’d once raise my brow,
I find myself down on one knee.
Somewhere along the way,
you brought me to the light.
With starry laughs and hands held
under mist and petrichor.
Somewhere along the way,
your eyes met mine and I saw them shine.
All I can say
is that you make the stars shine.
Thank you for being mine.
