Energy Consumption and Eye Protection

Most people think that turning off the lights is the most efficient way of reducing energy consumption. While that may be true in an aspect, replacing your lights with LED lights is actually more smart and efficient. Light is essential for human life, imagine doing your daily activities without it. LED lights with the right controls can maximize the amount of energy consumption by reducing/dimming your lights or creating a schedule where lights are turned on where it’s needed.

The idea of switching to LED lights can be scary, but in the long-run you’re actually saving money and you get more ease. For example, “If businesses and cities converted all of their conventional light points to LED or connected LED, global electricity savings could total as much as 1,132 TWh per year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 494 million households. The switch would save a total of €177 billion per year in electricity costs while taking more than 553 million tons of CO2 out of the atmosphere. That’s equivalent to the amount of carbon that 25 billion trees could sequester in a year.” (World Green Building Council. Energy Efficiency is a can’t do without) When you think of it like that, switching to LED lights is the right choice.

In addition to how energy consumption is a problem, eye protection is very important as well. In the modern world of phones, digital devices, etc that damage our eyes over time with blue light, people’s eyesights all over the globe have been impaired. There are 2.2 billion people in the world that suffer with visual impairment, but 1 billion of those cases could have been preventable or treated. In order to fix this problem, taking time off of digital devices can really help. That’s the obvious answer. But, there’s also another solution; eye-caring desk lamps. There are lamps that are designed to prevent eye-fatigue and reduce strain on the eyes. These can be very helpful for people who sit at desks all day, like office workers or gamers. Desk lamps with an LED bulb that don’t emit blue light and that don’t have a glare are the main things to look out for when buying an eye-caring desk lamp. If you are in a situation where you can’t take a break from the screen, an eye-caring desk lamp is the best way to look out for your eyes.
